The Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation (HKPFF)

The Hong Kong Poetry Festival Foundation (HKPFF) is a non-profit cultural organization initiated by the Chinese poet Bei Dao. It was founded in 2017 in Hong Kong. Its former body is the Organizing Committee of the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong.

We collaborate with local and overseas cultural organizations to hold various cultural activities, including, but not limited to, poetry recitals, music concerts, art exhibitions and film screenings. Our flagship event is the International Poetry Nights in Hong Kong (IPNHK), which has been held once every two years since 2009. It has become the most influential international poetry festival in Asia and one of the most successful international poetry events in the world.

We support local cultural entities that give free workshops and seminars to grassroots and underprivileged groups and provide them with free educational materials, with an eye to improve their literacy and writing skills. We also work with local universities to promote the research on contemporary world poetry by holding lectures, seminars and academic conferences.

We uphold the principle of being a non-profit organization and most of our cultural activities are free and open to the public.
